“going to the river gonna get me a frog yeah”
What the heck kind of frog is this? I’ve scoured the internet to ID this fellow, can’t do it.
It’s a big frog, at least 8 inches from nose to butt. Haven’t heard its voice yet. It’s in the pond out back seen in my other photos (north Phoenix AZ).
If you can ID it please post a comment, I’m curious whether this is a local or a release pet or an alien from another planet.

Confirmation: We have a “flock” of three feral lovebirds using our feeder on a regular basis. Last weekend we wheeled our pair of captive lovebirds outside to visit and they got much attention from the wild ones. Cool to watch while enjoying a weekend beer.

A pair of lovebirds has been frequenting the bird feeder. They seem to be quite happy and healthy. They’ll chatter back at me but keep their distance. It’s kind of funny because we have an almost identical pair inside the house! Click on the slide to see the large version of the pic and the detail of the birds.

And note the sparrow on the left…

This was too cool… watched this impressive bird snag a catfish. Another Heron noticed too, and chased him right over my head. As usual, click the slide image for a larger version. You’ll find some additional shots of herons next to these.

They’re regulars now. We spotted a feral Lovebird at the feeder but no pics yet.
